ABOUT JOHANNA

Johanna Cameron is a painter living in the Pacific Northwest.

Henry Ossawa Tanner penned the phrase that guides Johanna’s passion for painting. He wrote: “I will preach with my brush.” Johanna’s strong faith is integrated into all she creates.

This passion to worship God through art also shines through in her desire to teach children. Currently, she serves as the Art Teacher at a Kindergarten-8th grade school. Each week she teaches over 250 children.

Johanna remains a passionate advocate for enhancing academic learning and healthy development through childhood creativity. As a painter, she brings expertise and excitement to her Art classroom, creating rich educational experiences for her students.

Johanna’s love for the tactile nature of art education benefits her students. She believes that in a world filled with screens vying for children’s attention, art education provides not only a safe haven of experience for children but a necessary medium to facilitate the development of their imagination. Learning through practice, repetition and encouragement, provides a wonderful appreciation for Art and expression, which then translates into a greater awareness of the world and community.

Johanna is also a graduate student at the Academy of Art University where she is pursuing her degree in Art Education.

ABOUT HER WORK

Each of Johanna's paintings represents a deep reflection of her faith and feelings. Whether through her abstract work, portraits, or inspirational pieces, each is a celebration of beauty… beauty in the simple, in the difficult and in the everyday.

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast...”
